On 23 March 2000 we succeeded in interfacing the T52d simulator to
an original Siemens T52d machine. The T52d machine was connected to
the simulator via a simple relay interface connected to the RS-232
port on a PC running the simulation program. The test was a complete
success in both enciphering and deciphering messages sent in an on-line
fashion between the Siemens T52d machine and the simulator. It is almost
an uncanny feeling to see the code wheels on the real machine move in
exact synchronism with the code wheels on the simulator.
We are pursuing the tests and it is hoped that the experiences we gain
will allow us to further improve the simulation program and enhance its
look and feel.
Therefore, we can now report that the present version, available for
download, is a fully functional and certified version.
